Good morning, fellow poets and poetry lovers! Today I’m having a little chat with Kiki Chamberz about her poetry book and her journey as a poetess.

I’m looking forward to learning more about you and your new book, Kiki. Thanks for taking some time out of your day to speak with me. To kick things off, what served as your driving force for putting together this poetry collection?

My dream of putting my mark in the word and it was on my bucket list.

Writing poetry certainly is a great way to make your mark! When did you first embark upon your journey as a word weaver?

In high school during my sophomore year in 2008.

What topics can one expect to come across when reading your book?

Dating life, Christian faith, women empowerment, and more.

I’m a girl going for her dream.

It’s wonderful that female empowerment is featured in your collection. Speaking of which, who are some of your inspirations?

Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Oprah, etc.

It’s safe to say these are all highly empowering women. So, I know a lot of poets I talk to tell me they type most of their poetry as opposed to jotting it down on paper. What’s your preference and what do you like to write about in general?

I have a lot of journals and I write about anything and everything.

You and I both. Before we part ways, I was wondering if there was anything else you’d like to mention.

I’m a girl going for her dream.

Keep on writing and your dream will become a reality. Best of luck to you! 🙂 🌸
