The Black Hearts Sing by Aar Wood
is a captivating collection of dark and twisted
poetry filled will love and passion.

Today I’m going to be having a little chat with the author of The Black Hearts Sing, Aar Wood. Hi there, Aar! My favorite question to ask fellow poets is what their inspirations are, but in particular, I’d like to know what inspired this poetic creation.

I have been fascinated with the dark side of emotions for as long as I can remember. It was just a natural progression to get to this point.

You definitely can’t have yang without a little yin, and poetry can’t only thrive in the light. There’s certainly a lot of beauty in that inevitable darkness. So, how did this passion for poetry begin for you?

It is something that I have always done since I can remember.

That’s something I can relate to. Honestly, when I’m asked that same question, I answer it similarily. Is there a specific message you had in mind when publishing this book?

In the dark emotions still lie love and strong passion. It is nothing to be afraid of.

Great point! You saying that actually reminds me of Osho’s famous quote, “A certain darkness is needed to see the stars.” Now you know who inspires me… But who inspires you?

Classic poets and anyone who has a way with words.

In the dark emotions still lie love and strong passion.

I can see why the classics can have such an influence over your creativity. Is there a specific way you tend to go about writing?

It really depends on the subject. Honestly, it will be different each time. When I write, I am unpredictable.

It really is ideal to thrive in life’s lack of predictablity. Well, I thank you kindly for speaking with me a bit. It was a pleasure! 🖤
