Suneater ☁|Poem Excerpt|☼

On this hyper-gloomy day
the sun’s not invisible,
she’s just hid’ng
within you
that’s why
when we initially met,
despite the winter solstice cold,
a sizzl’ng sweat came over me…

Evy Zen (formerly Eva PoeteX) is a mystic poetess, eclectic artist, fiction writer, and wellness advocate who calls the Greater Cleveland area home sweet home. Born a Clevelander with a Greek lineage, the arts started being a major part of her life the moment she picked up her first crayon. To date, dozens of Evy's writings have been featured in publications like Thought Catalog, The Journey Magazine, and Journey of the Heart: Women's Spiritual Poetry. As a spoken word poet, she has also had the opportunity to collaborate with numerous musicians across the globe. Currently, Evy is the Founding Editor of Poehemian Press and runs the decade-young poetry website (formerly The Artistic Muse). Additionally, she is the author of several independently and locally published poetry books, including "Esoterra" and "Sacred Shapes." Furthermore, she works as a full-time freelance writer and editor. In 2012, Evy received a Bachelor of Arts degree (honors) in Creative Writing from Cleveland State University. She also obtained a Diploma (distinction) in Exercise Nutrition from Shaw Academy four years later. When she's not creating, Evy Zen recharges her batteries by reading her weight in books ("The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is her personal favorite), going on epic bike rides, meditating to ambient music, and racing super cars behind the safety of her computer or TV screen. 1. I like this, though it makes me sad as it reminds me of metaphors I’ve written about recently, and taken down for personal reasons after a relationship fell apart for lack of honesty and true intentions on her part. 😦 Awesome creative poem regardless Eva!

    1. Thank you! 🙂 I’m sorry for the negative relationship experience, though. Luckily, you did realize this person is not for you so you can find someone honest with only the best intentions for you and the relationship.

      1. Absolutely! I think I need to take a break from relationships for awhile first, to catch my breath, as the disappointment of the last two relationships I was in dragged me down to rock bottom and caused me want to give up and drown! When a breakup makes you contemplate suicide, it’s probably good to take a break from romance so to avoid the risk getting in too deep again with someone else before you regain the strength to swim to the surface and back to shore if things with another end with you again up a creek without a paddle… wow that was a spontaneous burst of metaphoric prose! Thanks for the friendly sentiment Eva, and you’re welcome for the compliment! 🙂

I value your thoughts. :)
